As climate change induced disasters, pandemics, and other visible and invisible forces compel indigenous, rural folk to migrate from their homes in search of a better life, they stand to lose a lot. But, as we now know, with such forced migration, and the social and cultural erosion that invariably follows, we stand to lose a lot too! Not only as travellers, but also as fellow human beings. At HomeStayXP, we give you a reason to meet and live with people at places that matter safely. We aim to promote curated experiences of sustainable life and responsible travel, and invite you to be a part of this journey. Let’s go about and seek together.
When you stay at a homestay you experience something that you won’t in other forms of accommodation. You not only do you meet the local people, you get to live with them and become a part of their life’s experience. You also make a tangible difference to their lives by making them earn. It’s a WIN-WIN situation.
Each homestay experience provides an opportunity for the visitor and the host family to learn from each other, share interests, and establish a foundation for a successful stay. The wealth of information that the hosts have about the local area is unmatched to any guide you can buy. So your planning gets done easily.
We recommend to everyone that a homestay experience is better with amicable and cooperative sentiments through by both parties. The objective is to look beyond the monetary considerations to honour and respect each other. Most hosts are more than willing to guide you through the local area with valuable insights.
Your integrity is the only valuable asset that is required for a successful HomeStayXP engagement. We advise taking care not to disturb the integrity of the ecosystem, while creating economic opportunities that make conservation and protection of natural resources advantageous to the local people.
A homestay host has a duty of care for the wellbeing of their guests. Your guests should feel welcomed to your home and be provided with the basic necessities. You are encouraged to provide other amenities if you like, but you’re required to provide at a minimum the basic essentials. Read more
Short programs focusing on creative tourism and experiencing the lifestyle of the community may be offered. For example, hosts may offer their own lifestyle activities for visitors to participate in local experiences such as farming, farms & orchards plantation or just visiting the hosts’ farm, managing livestock etc.
