A Lovely Homestay in Kumarhatti, Solan, Himachal Pradesh

My apartment in Kumarhatti is a warm invitation for you into the meditative quietness of the majestic Shivalik Hills in the mighty Himalayas.

Here, the sound of your breath echoes back into your soul. I offer you a caring calmness and nature’s freshness in complete harmony with nature.

You will be immersed in all the grandeur and grace of the surrounding mountains. All this is seamlessly woven into the bespoke luxury homestay by a mindful family and a caring caretaker (part-timer) serving you.

Our top-of-the-valley apartment is spread over 1800 sqft and consists of well-appointed 3 bedrooms & living areas suitable for an entire family or a group of friends.

It comes equipped with 100 Mbps WiFi for anyone who wants to work from home or is on a workation.

Location of my Homestay in Kumarhatti

The location of the apartment is quite convenient to access via well-maintained National Highway 907A, also known as Kumarhatti-Sarahan-Nahan Road, yet away from the hustle and bustle of city life and offers extreme tranquillity.

It is located on top of the valley in the village Bohli, Kumarhatti, Solan, just 6.2 km from Barog-Kumarhatti Chowk.

It offers a panoramic view of the majestic Himalayan slopes with all the greens they offer.

Please Note About My Homestay in Kumarhatti

The turn to the apartment is a bit tricky with the new flyover at Kumarhatti. Please note that you do not have to take the flyover. You must take the bylane to the left that will bring you to the Chowk from where you should take the right turn toward the apartment complex & my homestay in Kumarhatti. This will lead you to the location of my 3BHK apartment Kumarhatti.

There is an extensive market at Kumarhatti with places to eat, chemists, and grocery shops from where you can make your required purchases. A few meters away after you take the right turn, towards the apartment you’ll come across a store on your left called “Sunshine” that stocks many international groceries and bread for you to shop for if needed. Sunshine also home delivers at an extra charge.

There are several local eateries (Dhaba) along the way that offer fresh and sumptuous food. A few of them may offer home delivery at an additional cost.

Pine & Dine is a local restaurant in Gandhigram with a beautiful view that also delivers food to home. The menu for this quaint restaurant in Gandhigram is hosted in the photos section.

Adjoining the apartment complex is a restaurant called Lord of Hills restaurant where you can eat and order a takeaway. They may or may not home deliver and you may find them expensive.

About Kumarhatti, Solan, Himachal Pradesh

Kumarhatti, Solan is a quaint place midway Shimla. Located on NH-22 in the majestic Shivalik Himalayas, it is one of the best hill stations of Himachal Pradesh that has all the basic facilities like schools, colleges, and hospitals nearby.

Kumarhatti serves as an ideal & convenient base location for visiting various tourist locations like Kasauli, Barog, Solan, Shimla, Nahan, Chail, and Kufri in Himachal Pradesh.

Crisscrossing Barog-Kumarhatti is NH-907A that goes on to Nahan in Sirmour and then through Paonta Sahib to Dehradun in Uttarakhand.

Things to do in Kumarhatti

You can climb up to Churdhar Peak while you are here. The drive through the valley of waterfalls before Nouradhar (base camp for the Churdhar trek) is surely enchanting. These are two prime things to do in Kumarhatti.

Kasauli: Kasauli is located mere 20 minutes by road from my home in Kumarhatti and provides a good day trip. You can also visit Shri Balaknath Temple on your way to Kasauli.

Dagshai: Right in the neighborhood is the Cellular Jail Museum Dagshai located at the Dagshai cantonment where you can visit and soak yourself in its history. The drive and the scenic views from Dagshai are mesmerizing.

Bon Monastery: You can also visit Menri Monastery or Bon Monastery, situated in Dolanji, almost 26 km down the hill from Kumarhatti using SH6. The monastery is a center of many festivities, color, and vibrance during New Year’s Eve when Cham or the Bon Dances are performed here.

The location is good, although there should be a hoarding in front of the flat for the guests to know the flat's way. We booked in make my trip ,where they mentioned complimentary meals all 3 will be available,but on reaching we discovered it's a DIY kitchen, with no caretaker. There was no water in washroom from night to morning,with few drinking water bottle available.The host were nice, friendly and co-operative. But it should be mentioned in the site that the meals have to be self cooked. Also there should be a caretaker and proper system of water storage.

I had a great stay here.I felt like I am staying in my home with all requirements you need for daily routine.Especially Sumith ji super host,he is such a wonderful man with tons of knowledge will share everything while a chit-chat and having a cup of Italian espresso in the balcony.He is so supportive and helps you to discover the places around also Tis homestay is convenient and easily accessible.Thanks Sumith sir.Will visit for a long stay for surely!!
