The Owls Nest Kanatal is a farm stay with 3-Cottage rooms. 2-Cottages have 1-Bathroom, 1 King size beds and an Attic for two kids to sleep in 2-Cottages. The 3rd cottage does not have an attic.

Owls Nest Kanatal cottages are wooden and rustic. We have used a lot of real wood inside and natural stones outside. The bathrooms are modern and have hot water available. There is a lot of open space around and even a machaan for you to perch up and a glass house to relax and find inspiration.

To top it all, the farm overlooks a valley with an endless view of the majestic Himalayas. And, while you are here, do look at our Owls Nest Kasauli as well.

Kanatal in a brief

A few decades ago there was a small lake or taal (pond). When it dried up, people started calling it kaana taal. By that the name of nearby area is Kanatal. Indians usually use the word kaana for dry well or pond in Hindi language.

Kanatal is a small village and a hill station in the state of Uttarakhand, India. Kanatal is 78 km from Dehradun, 38 km from Mussoorie and 12 km from Chamba. It is on the Chamba-Mussoorie road and nearly 300 km from Delhi.

Located in the picturesque settings of the Garhwal Himalayas, the charming hill station of Kanatal is a perfect weekend getaway for the weary souls. Encircled by the sun-kissed peaks and the velvety coniferous trees, Kanatal still remains relatively unexplored.

You can visit Kanatal any time throughout the year as the place has salubrious climate all year.  However, the ideal time to visit Kanatal is from April to October to make the most out of summers.

The temperature here ranges between 10-20 degrees Celsius during summer, and -5 to 10 degrees Celsius during winter.

You can be blessed with snowfall at Kanatal during the months of December, January and February.
